If you have lost some or all of your natural teeth, whether from injury, decay, or periodontal disease, dentures or partials can replace your missing teeth and restore your confidence. With custom-made dentures and partials from Barrineau DDS, you can enjoy improved comfort and function. We know how important a functional and beautiful smile can be; a well-designed smile not only restores confidence but enhances your quality of life.

Types of Dentures

Dentures are for everyone, not just the elderly. Advancements in dental technology have made dentures more comfortable and effective than ever before. With custom dentures, you are less likely to experience slipping dentures or pressure on your gum line.

Full Dentures

Full dentures are the go-to solution if you’re missing all the teeth on either your lower or upper arch. These traditional dentures rest comfortably on your gums using dental adhesive to stay and rely on your palate or jawbone ridge for support. They consist of artificial teeth set into a base matching your gums, designed to restore your smile and help you chew normally.

If you’re looking for a cost-effective way to replace an entire row of teeth, full dentures are a practical choice. They are designed for easy removal and cleaning, providing a practical solution for full tooth replacement.

Partial Dentures

If you still have some natural teeth remaining, partial dentures might be the best fit. These dentures work similarly to full dentures but with the added advantage of special clasps that hook around your existing teeth for extra stability.

Partial dentures offer an affordable and effective solution for replacing multiple missing teeth, especially for those not yet ready or eligible for implants. They offer a stable and functional solution, preserving your remaining natural teeth.

Implant-Supported Dentures

For those who have a healthy bone structure and are looking for a more permanent, stable solution, implant-supported dentures are an excellent option. These dentures are secured to titanium implants in your jaw, offering the stability of implants combined with the affordability of traditional dentures. Implant-supported dentures don’t require adhesive and provide a secure, natural feel.

While they do require more thorough daily care, they are a worthwhile investment if you’re seeking long-term stability and comfort in your dental restoration.

Which Is Right For Me?

Traditional dentures and partials are a cost-effective way to replace teeth if you cannot afford to replace your teeth with implants, or if you are not eligible for implants because of medical conditions or lack of bone structure.

During your denture consultation at our Gulf Breeze dental office, Dr. Barrineau will discuss your concerns and expectations regarding tooth replacement. She will make suggestions based on if a basic denture or an implant-supported denture would best meet your needs. We will go over the pros and cons of both options and assist you in choosing the one right for you.

Life With Dentures

We recognize that adjusting to new dentures takes time, and we’re committed to supporting you throughout the process. Once you’ve adjusted to your dentures, you can enjoy your favorite foods without restrictions.

Keeping a clean and healthy mouth, even when you have dentures, is also very important. We recommend yearly checkups with Dr. Barrineau if you have full traditional dentures, and checkups every 4–6 months if you have an implant-supported denture. Part of this checkup is ensuring any changes in your mouth are addressed to keep your dentures fitting comfortably.

If you still have some natural teeth, daily brushing, and flossing, as well as professional cleanings at our Gulf Breeze dental office, are required for optimal oral health.
